FleetOptics integration

FleetOptics, native to your Canadian WMS, for the metros where speed matters.

Regional last-mile and same-day delivery in select Canadian metros, integrated alongside your national carriers in one workflow. Rate-shop where FleetOptics serves, fall back to Canada Post, UPS, or FedEx everywhere else.

What this integration does

Every FleetOptics workflow, native to CanShip.

FleetOptics fills a gap the national carriers can't: fast, reliable, regional last-mile in the metros where most Canadian ecommerce demand is. We integrate it the way operators actually use it, alongside national carriers in the same fulfillment workflow.

Every service

Same Day, Next Day, and Standard service tiers

Every FleetOptics service is supported. Pick by speed at the order level, set defaults at the SKU or client level, or let rate shopping pick the cheapest eligible service for each shipment in the served metros.

Live rates

Real-time rate shopping in CAD

FleetOptics rates pulled live for every shipment, sized against actual package weight and dimensions. Quoted in Canadian dollars. The cheapest eligible service that meets your delivery deadline ships.

Coverage

Major urban and suburban markets across Canada

FleetOptics serves Greater Toronto, Greater Vancouver, Greater Montreal, and Greater Hamilton, with continued expansion. Roughly 7 million households nationally. CanShip auto-detects whether a destination is in coverage. If yes, FleetOptics rates appear in the rate-shop. If no, your national carriers handle the shipment.

Same-day capability

Same-day where you can offer it

FleetOptics' same-day service in served metros is a competitive edge for ecommerce brands serving local customers. CanShip surfaces it as a delivery option at the order level when the shipment is in coverage.

Labels

4x6 thermal labels

Industry-standard 4x6 thermal labels printed directly from CanShip. Compatible with Zebra ZD420, Brother QL-1100, Dymo LabelWriter, and any thermal printer. Same printer, same workflow as your other carriers.

Channel sync

Tracking writeback to Shopify, Amazon, Extensiv

The moment a FleetOptics label prints, CanShip captures the tracking number and writes it back to the originating order in Shopify, Amazon, or Extensiv. Customer notifications fire automatically. Your client portals update instantly.

Setup (BYOC path)

Fifteen minutes from credentials to shipped order.

Below is the setup flow for bringing your own FleetOptics account. Marketplace path is even simpler: toggle FleetOptics on in CanShip's Carriers page and skip directly to shipping. About 30 seconds.

Step 1

Add your FleetOptics credentials

From CanShip's Carriers page, add your FleetOptics account number and API access credentials. Stored encrypted at rest, transmitted over TLS only.

Step 2

Test labels for your served metros

Print test labels for an in-coverage destination (a major Canadian metro address) and an out-of-coverage one. CanShip validates that FleetOptics rates appear when expected and your fallback carriers take over when not.

Step 3

Ship orders

Set your FleetOptics defaults (preferred service tier, fallback rules when out-of-coverage) and start shipping. Total setup including testing: about fifteen minutes.

Why this integration is different

FleetOptics, the way Canadian operators actually use it.

Regional carriers, first-class
Regional last-mile isn't a side option

Most US WMS treat regional Canadian carriers as third-party afterthoughts, if they support them at all. CanShip integrates FleetOptics natively, with the same rate-shopping, label, and tracking-writeback workflow as the national carriers. Same dashboard, same picker UI.

Operator-built
We use it ourselves at our 3PL

Breakthrough Studio, our own 3PL in Metro Vancouver, ships FleetOptics for our local BC customers every day. Same-day and next-day delivery is a real conversion-driver and we built the integration around how it actually works on the floor.

Smart rate shopping
Falls back gracefully when out of coverage

FleetOptics doesn't serve every Canadian destination. CanShip's rate-shop logic detects coverage automatically and surfaces FleetOptics only where the carrier delivers. Out of coverage, your national carriers take over. No manual carrier-selection logic to maintain.

Speed where it matters
Same-day delivery, real

For ecommerce brands serving customers in Canada's major metros, same-day delivery is one of the most powerful conversion levers. FleetOptics makes it possible without an in-house delivery operation, and CanShip wires it directly into your fulfillment workflow.

Plan availability

Available on Grow tier and above.

Available on
Grow, Pro, and Enterprise

FleetOptics is included starting on the Grow plan ($299 CAD/mo). Free and Starter tiers focus on the national carriers (Canada Post, UPS, FedEx). Brands shipping enough volume to justify FleetOptics typically hit the Grow tier anyway.

On Grow+
Bring your own, or opt into the marketplace

Default is BYOC: your own FleetOptics account, your negotiated rates, no per-shipment fee from us. Or opt into the CanShip marketplace per carrier (transparent $0.50 + 6% fee, same as the marketplace path on other carriers) and skip the account setup. Toggle either way, any time.

Honest about the edges

Two things to know.

We'd rather flag the practical limitations up front than have you discover them in production. The two below cover almost all real-world questions Canadian operators ask about FleetOptics.

Coverage

Regional carrier means selective coverage

FleetOptics serves major urban and suburban markets across Canada (Greater Toronto, Greater Vancouver, Greater Montreal, Greater Hamilton, with continued expansion). Outside the served metros, shipments fall back to your national carriers. We surface this clearly during rate shopping so there's no surprise at the order level.

Same-day cutoffs

Same-day requires order-cutoff awareness

Same-day service has hard cutoff times (typically morning or early afternoon, region-dependent). CanShip enforces cutoff windows on the order level so customer expectations match what FleetOptics will actually deliver.

Common questions

Quick answers about the FleetOptics integration.

FAQ

What areas does FleetOptics cover?

Major Canadian urban and suburban markets, including Greater Toronto, Greater Vancouver, Greater Montreal, and Greater Hamilton, with continued expansion (roughly 7 million households nationally). CanShip auto-detects whether a destination is in coverage. If yes, FleetOptics shows up in rate shopping. If no, your national carriers (Canada Post, UPS, FedEx) handle the shipment.

FAQ

Do I need a FleetOptics account?

Your call, on Grow and above. Bring your own FleetOptics account (BYOC, default, no fee from us) or opt into the CanShip marketplace per carrier (uses our bulk FleetOptics account, transparent $0.50 + 6% per-shipment fee).

FAQ

Can I rate-shop FleetOptics against the national carriers?

Yes, automatically. CanShip queries FleetOptics alongside your other connected carriers in real time for every in-coverage shipment. The cheapest eligible service that meets your delivery deadline wins. FleetOptics where it's competitive, others where they are.

FAQ

What about same-day delivery?

FleetOptics' same-day service is supported and surfaces as a delivery option at the order level when the destination is in coverage and the order is placed before the regional cutoff. CanShip enforces cutoffs so customer expectations match reality.

FAQ

Is FleetOptics on every CanShip plan?

No. FleetOptics is included on the Grow plan ($299 CAD/mo) and above. Free and Starter focus on the national carriers (Canada Post, UPS, FedEx). The brands that benefit most from FleetOptics typically already need Grow's capabilities anyway.

FAQ

What if my customer is outside FleetOptics' coverage?

CanShip's rate-shop logic detects coverage automatically. Out-of-coverage shipments fall back to your national carriers without any manual intervention. You don't need to maintain coverage maps or routing rules.
