ShipStation integration

Your ShipStation carriers, inside CanShip.

Connect your ShipStation account with its API key. The carriers on it join CanShip's rate shopping beside your direct carriers, and you buy the label without leaving the packing station.

What this integration does

What you can do with ShipStation in CanShip.

Carriers

Found on your account

CanShip reads the carriers from your ShipStation account each time, never from a fixed list. You can limit CanShip to some of them.

Rates

Priced beside your other carriers

ShipStation's rates show in rate shopping with the carrier and service named, next to your directly connected carriers.

Labels

Bought from the rate you picked

CanShip buys the label from the exact ShipStation quote you chose and stores the PDF with the shipment.

Voids

Void from CanShip

Void a ShipStation label from the shipment in CanShip. If ShipStation refuses, you see its message.

Channel sync

Tracking under the real carrier

The tracking number goes back to your store. Shopify shows the carrier that delivers the parcel, such as Canada Post or Canpar, not ShipStation.

Canpar

Canpar through ShipStation

Canpar labels come through ShipStation today. Connect your Canpar account in ShipStation and it shows up in CanShip.

Setup

From API key to first label.

Step 1

Create a V2 API key in ShipStation

In ShipStation, go to Settings, then API Settings, and create a V2 API key.

Step 2

Add it in CanShip

On the Carriers page, set up ShipStation and paste the key. CanShip fills a blank ship-from address from your first warehouse.

Step 3

Ship

Rate an order at the packing station, compare ShipStation's carriers with the rest, and buy the label.

Why this integration is different

One system, not two.

One system
No tracking hop between systems

If you buy labels in ShipStation and run the warehouse somewhere else, tracking has to travel between them to reach the store. Inside CanShip, the system that buys the label is the one that writes the tracking back.

Keep what works
Your ShipStation carriers stay

If a carrier account already lives in ShipStation, you don't have to move it to use it from CanShip.

Plan availability

Available on every CanShip plan.

Every plan
Your own ShipStation account

ShipStation is on Starter, Grow, Pro and Enterprise, like every carrier CanShip supports.

Pricing
No fee per label

Labels are paid through your ShipStation account, as they are today. CanShip adds no fee per label. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial.

Honest about the edges

Three things to know.

Better you hear these now than at the packing station.

No test mode

Every label is real

ShipStation has no test environment, so every label bought through it is a real purchase.

Close-out

Manifests stay in ShipStation

Labels bought through ShipStation are manifested on ShipStation's side, not in CanShip's End of Day.

Stale quotes

An old rate needs a fresh one

If a ShipStation quote has expired by the time you buy, CanShip asks you to rate the shipment again.
